Acrylic Tag
Following my successful first attempt using an acrylic substrate for an ATC (you can see that piece here) I decided to trial the same process; following Nikki Killingers tutorial, on a larger scale.

As I discovered with the ATC it is far better, and easier, to stamp your chosen image using a stamping platform. It avoids any smudging!

For this tag I chose the skeleton from Andy Skinners' Birds and Bones set. Using a mix of DecoArt interference paints in Magenta and Turquoise I painted in the initial layer of the skeleton. Further layers of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics in Titan Buff and Medium Grey, followed by a layer of Carbon Black to finish.

For the background I used DecoArt Media Misters in a range of colours. It is best with the misters to hold them a good distance from the piece, practice also makes perfect! Once they dried, I added A layer of Americana Decor crackle medium followed by chalk paint layers.
As before, I am really impressed with the way the colours pop under acrylic and the levels of depths you can gain by working backwards in stages.
