Altenew Academy - Class Six, Let It Shine
Updated: Feb 13, 2019
Sometimes it is difficult to find the right balance when it comes to shiny elements, this class offers different ways to introduce a little shine to give your cards a luxurious feel.
For my class submission I have selected this card created with Engraved Flowers stamp set, following the tips from Lesson 5.
I was really taken with the design concepts introduced in "Let It Shine" and wanted my submission to reflect this. This card is also a great example of how planned layouts can change.
I initially cut my circle from the card panel and planned to have it in the top left area, with my flower image in the foreground. I found the layout too restricted, and the flower masked too much of the foiling detail on the acetate. Swapping the layout around, I found a better flow leading from the flower down to the acetate. I placed the sentiment behind the acetate stamped in black and balanced this using a strip of black down the left side of the card.
I love the subtle details introduced using glitter as a frame around my cut out, and as a strip, as well as the foiled polka dot across the acetate.
