Altenew Academy - Class Two, All About Layering 2
Updated: Feb 10, 2019
The next lesson for Altenew Academy focuses once again on the layering process across a range of different stamp sets. These classes really help build your confidence when using the layering system, and offer a great insight on what colour inks work well together and pointers should you wish to trial different design combinations.
For my class submission I have chosen to feature this card using Exotic Tulips stamp set, following tips from Lesson 9.
Building on the previous lessons, as well as incoorportaing ones from this - I wanted to created a card that highlighted the layered stamps. I chose to work with Exotic Tulips stamp set, using a repeating image of the tulip bud. I wanted to play with the delicate nature of the bud theme and decided to contrast this image against a monochrome background.
For the colours of the buds, I skipped colour tones of ink to deepen the the final stamp layer, fussy cut them and mounted them on foam pads to slightly raise them from the background. I have added the sentiment "Hello Sunshine!" in Jet Black which has been over stamped with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, this adds another layer of interest.
To finish I added a few white sequins to draw the eye from the bottom of the card, up to the sentiment.
