Altenew Academy - Lesson Three, Clean and Simple Boutique Cards

Lesson Three for Altenew Academy takes you through several classes, showing you how to create a "WOW" effect while channeling a minimal look. These kind of cards really appeal to me, I love the understated yet classy nature.

For my class submission I have chosen to show this card using Handpicked Bouquet stamp set, following the tutorial in Lesson 3.

I had never tried this foiling technique before and, after watching the class, just knew I had to try it out. I selected the outline stamp from Handpicked Bouquet and heat embossed this using clear embossing powder. Placing rose gold foil over the top of the embossed card panel, I ran this through a laminator to melt the embossed areas causing them to fix to the foil. The result is this gorgeous metallic sheen over the outline.

Drawing inspiration from the foil colour, I added a watercolour effect using inks from Goldfish Tails. This was done in a rough manner to give more carefree feel to the card.

The sentiment has been heat embossed on to a blended ink background, using the same colours of ink as in the watercolours. To finish, I added a few sequins and mount the panel, raised to an A6 card blank.

Stamp Sets: Handpicked Bouquet Inks: Goldfish Tails Supplies: A6 White Card Blank, Smooth White Card, Embossing Ink, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Rose Gold Foil, Laminator, Sequins, Various Brushes, Blending Tool, Foam Pads, Double Sided Tape, Glue
