Altenew Academy - Level 2, Class One, Beyond Basic Backgrounds
I'm so excited to begin Level 2 of the Altenew Educator Certification Program.
For my class submission I have chosen this card using Sohcahtoa stamp set and the guide from Lesson 2.
To make sure my background pattern was stamped evenly, I began with drawing out a grid on my card panel in pencil. This gave me something to follow, and helped align my stamps. I decided to work with a selection of blue inks to give a more masculine vibe, and worked down the grid from light inks to darker ones to create an ombre effect.
To the bottom of the card I added a die cut sentiment "thanks" cut from black card with a drop shadow of light blue. Above this, white heat embossed on black card, the word "with" completes the sentiment. These I mounted on foam pads on a strip of vellum. The vellum helps define the area for the sentiment, making it pop.
To finish I mounted the card panel on to a 5 1/2" by 7" top folding card blank. A strip of light blue to the edge of the card panel pulls the layers together, while a few light blue sequins frame the sentiment.
