Altenew Academy - Level 2,Class Four,Creative Watercolor Media
For my class submission I have chosen this card featuring the Inked Rose stamp set, using the guide from Lesson 2 Metallic Shimmer Sprays.
There are so many ways to watercolour stamped images, for me the idea of using the altenew Metallic Shimmer Sprays really appealed. Being able to add colour, along with a little sparkle seemed perfect!
Working on a watercolour card, I started out by stamping my rose images in a waterproof ink in a similar colour to that which I intended to paint. Beginning with inks, I squidged some ink on to my glass mat and used a water spritzer to transform the inks. Painting from my lightest colours up, I added shading to areas then introduced a layer of Metallic Shimmer Spray in Coral Berry.
I masked the roses and stamped the leaves and repeated the process used for the flowers, this time using green inks.
A die cut sentiment sit on top of a strip of vellum which has been stamped with a continuation of the sentiment.
To finish, I mounted the card panel, raised on foam, on to a 5 1/2" by 7" top folding black card blank.
