Art Journal Title Page
Art Journaling is a really cathartic process using art/ painting/ scribbling - to get all your emotions out on one page! I decided to start a new journal today to coincide with a new phase in my life. Below I will take you through the steps to create the title page.

For this project you will need;
White Gesso
DecoArt Tinting Base
DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics - Cobalt Turquoise Hue, Primary Megenta, Prussian Blue Hue
DecoArt White Modeling Paste
Stencils and Stamps
Washi Tape
Staz-On Jet Black Ink
Clear Embossing Powder
Black and White Posca Pens
Step 1

Roughly apply the tinting base along with Colbalt Turquoise Hue and Primary Magenta Fluid Acrylic across two pages of your journal.
You don't need to be too neat or precious at this stage.
Step 2

Next apply two stencil designs using a stenciling brush and undiluted magenta and turquoise.
Step 3

Apply a wash of white gesso over the two pages to knock back the colours.
Step 4

Mix a small amount of turquoise with DecoArt White Modeling Paste. Draw this through a stencil using a palette knife.
Step 5

Wash the pages back again with gesso. And apply a wash of Primary Magenta and Prussian Blue Hue, allowing it to pool around the raised areas of modeling paste.
Step 6

Across the centre of the pages stamp your chosen design with Staz-On Jet Black ink. Into the top right; stamp a phrase. While the ink is still wet, sprinkle on clear embossing powder - tap off the excess and heat to emboss the phrase.
Step 7

Across the centre, below the stamped design; add a strip of washi tape.
Step 8

Finally add detail to your pages using blank and white Posca pens.
Remember; Art Journal pages are personal to you, there is no right or wrong - just have fun experimenting!
Happy Crafting!
