ATC Monday's #001 - "Read All About It"

It's Monday night, which means it is time for the first ATC in my ongoing series!

I wanted to produce an ongoing project of mini makes to try out various techniques, colour combinations and to work as a library from which I can build on and of course share with you!

For my first ATC venture,I wanted to work with one of my favourtie combinations; Titan Buff, Paynes Grey and Quinacridone Gold.

List of products used;

MDF ATC

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Titan Buff

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Paynes Grey

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Quinacridone Gold

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Cadmium Red Hue

DecoArt Matte Medium

Deli Paper

Staz-On Jet Black Ink

Step One

Paint one MDF ATC is a base layer of Titan Buff.

Step Two

Apply a wash of Paynes Grey over the surface if the ATC, building the layers with darker layers to the edge.

Step Three

Once the Paynes Grey wash is dry, apply a wash of Quinacridone Gold - again building the layers and depth.

Step Four

Take a section of old text and glue it to the ATC, sealing the paper in place using Matte Medium.

Step Five

Add a stamped element to your ATC. Here I have used a pen nib design stamped on to deli paper with Jet Black Staz-On ink. Sealed in place with Matte Medium.

Step Six

Edge the ATC in undialuted Paynes Grey to create a frame.

Step Seven

Add a greyboard heart motief, painted in Cadmium Red Hue and embellish with the word "art".
