ATC Monday's #002 - "Timeless Gold"

Next up for our ATC journey I wanted to create an aged gold piece, just using DecoArt paint techniques - I loved the results so much that I will soon scale this project up and recreate the background on a much larger scale!

List of products used;

MDF ATC

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Metallic Gold

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Paynes Grey

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Raw Umber

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Quinacridone Gold

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Viridian

Versafine Onyx Black

Stampendous Clear Embossing Enamel

Step One

Paint a base layer of Metallic Gold on to an MDF ATC.

Step Two

Build washes over the ATC surface. I have used Paynes Grey, Raw Umber and Quinacridone Gold.

Let the washes dry naturally to create the same effect as shown.

Step Three

Introduce a wash layer of Viridian, building the colour to the edges of the ATC.

Step Four

Stamp an image on to the ATC in Black Versafine Ink. Sprinkle Stampendous Embossing Enamel over the stamped area and tap away any excess.

Step Five

Use a heat gun to seal the embossing enamel and finish the ATC with a word sentiment.
