ATC Monday's #003 - "Graffiti Heart"

Part of the ATC project is to record a catalogue of my favourite techniques, this one called "Graffiti Heart" is both simple and effective.

List of products used;

DecoArt Media Modeling Paste White

DecoArt Media Gesso White

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Paynes Grey

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Cadmium Red Hue

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Metallic Gold

Dare 2b Artzy Tracy Wienzapfel Stamp "Hearts Swirls & Doodles"

Step One

Using a palette knife, spread DecoArt Modeling Paste White on to a MDF ATC.

Step Two

Using a heat gun, dry the surface of the modeling paste. Take your stamp and dab the surface with water, press it evenly in to the surface of the paste to transfer the image.

Wash the stamp off in warm water.

Step Three

Once the modeling paste is fully dry, paint the ATC is White Gesso.

Step Four

Wash over the surface of the ATC using Paynes Grey, building up darker layers and allowing the paint to pool in the textures.

Step Five

Using a soft flat brush and a very small amount of White Gesso, dry brush the whole of the ATC to pick out the highlights.

Step Six

Paint in the heart with White Gesso and edge the ATC in White to create a boarder.

Step Seven

Paint in the heart with Cadmium Red Hue and dry brush with Metallic Gold to highlight.

Step Eight

Finish the piece with a word sentiment.
