ATC Monday's #004 - "Antique Sign"

Tonight Monday Night ATC features one of my favourite products, DecoArt Weathered Wood. Used to create a really grungy aged ATC.

List of product used;

MDF ATC

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Burnt Umber

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Raw Sienna

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Paynes Grey

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Quinacridone Gold

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Metallic Silver

DecoArt White Chalk Paint

DecoArt Weathered Wood

Stampendous Andy Skinner Curiosity Stamp Set

Versafine Vintage Sepia Ink

Step One

Paint a base layer of Burnt Umber on to an MDF ATC. Apply a layer of DecoArt Weathered Wood and allow to dry.

Step Two

Once the Weathered Wood is fully dry, paint the ATC in a layer of White Chalk Paint.

Rub away areas of the Chalk Paint using a baby wipe to create an even more distressed look.

Step Three

Create rusted embellishments to add to the ATC.

Initially paint the greyboard elements in Metallic Silver, then wash over in Paynes Grey, Burnt Umber and Raw Sienna building up the layers ad depth. Finally finish in Quninacridone Gold.

Step Four

Load the chosen stamp design with Versafine Vintage Sepia and stamp the image on to the ATC.

With a wet brush, create drips of Paynes Grey, Raw Sienna and Quinacridone Gold down the front of the ATC.

Step Five

Glue the embellishments on to the ATC to form the bolts. From these paint down Quinacridone Gold to give the effect of rust staining the sign.
