ATC Monday's #006 - "Precious Letters"

It's Monday, time for another ATC!

Today I wanted to show how a two step process can create a very simple but effective background.

List of products used;

Decoart Media Fluid Acrylics Metallic Gold

Decoart Media FLuid Acrylics Cadmium Red Hue

DecoArt Media Crackle Paste

Andy Skinner 8x8" Stencil - "Alphabet Spagetti"

Step One

Paint a base layer of Metallic Gold over the ATC.

You can paint directly on to the ATC without having to pep and prime first.

Step Two

Take your chosen stencil and lay it over the ATC. Using a pallette knife, draw the DecoArt Crackle Paste through the stencil.

Carefully lift the stencil away and allow the paste to dry naturally.

Remember, thicker paste will result in larger cracks - where as thinly applied paste will produce smaller cracks.

Step Three

Once fully dry add a greyboard heart painted in Cadmium Red Hue and a word sentiment to finish.

You can, of course, make the background your own by adding washes to create a different look.
