Ministry of Mixology Coventry April 2017
Just over a week ago the Ministry of Mixology was in full force. Held at a Holiday Inn hotel in Coventry, MoM is a fantastic mixed media art retreat hosted by the great teams of Tando Creative and Andy Skinner.
MoM is an opportunity is learn from incredibly talented tutors, meet up with old friends and make meet new friends.
Day one saw us enjoying the colourful wonders of Kate Crane's workshop, we created a lovely art tidy along with tags using brayer and stencilling techniques.
Kate's use of colour and texture is really inspiring, I cannot wait to try out a few more tags and fill this box up with art work!
Saturday evenings at the event are always fun, this time around I had the honour of teaching one of the Saturday evening Make & Take classes. Here are a few examples;
Day Two was spent creating a gorgeous book box for storing inks with France Papillon.
The layers and techniques involved created a really pretty vintage vibe to the design.
This is was I love most about Mixology workshops - they take you out of your comfort zone and encourage you to try something completely different to your normal style. You always come away having learnt a huge amount and ready to incorporate those ideas in your own work.
To the Ministry of Mixology team, for all your hard work (and for making me laugh so much!)
To the tutors for their boundless inspiration
To the friends I had the pleasure of catching up with
To the new friends I made
And to the lovely people who enjoyed my first ever DecoArt Media Make & Take
I hope to see you at the next event!
