Toy Box with DecoArt Americana Acrylics
If you have followed my blog for a little while you will already know that my mum is a fantastic artist, it is thanks to her that I enjoy a deep appreciation of art.
It has become a family tradition that all the babies in the family receive painted gifts for special events. Christmas was no exception, it was my nephews first Christmas and mum created this gorgeous toy box to mark the occasion.
The wooden box, cut and crafted by my dad, was painted in a jungle animal theme.
Mum began by sketching out animal characters, once she found a combination and design she was happy with she transferred the images to the toy box. She inked the images in with Sakura Pigma Micron pens.
The design was painted using a combination of colours from the DecoArt Americana range. These lent themselves well to the style of painting as they are bright and bold, and adhere perfectly to the wooden surface.
Mum personalised the lid of George's toy box and added a beautiful giraffe!
